Workshop Description
Learn the art of stamp carving and printing in this hands-on workshop that combines creativity and functionality. Participants will design and carve their own stamps using SpeedyCarve blocks, then use them to print unique patterns on fabric, creating custom cloth napkins. This session emphasizes personalization and the joy of transforming everyday items into works of art.
During the workshop, attendees will create a set of 2 or 4 cloth napkins, printed with their hand-carved designs. The process includes designing simple, eye-catching motifs, carving them into SpeedyCarve blocks, practicing printing techniques on paper, and finally transferring the designs onto fabric using fabric-safe inks. By the end, participants will leave with a set of beautifully printed napkins—perfect for personal use, gifting, or adding handmade charm to any occasion.
This workshop also highlights the versatility of handmade stamps, encouraging participants to experiment with repeated or layered designs to create dynamic, custom patterns.

Knowledge/Equipment Required
- No block printing experience is required. We will review several printed napkin examples and ways to take a simple shape and create an interesting pattern. We will practice making marks in print blocks using a variety of carving tools and then we will practice printing on paper before moving on to printing on fabric napkins.
