When @textile_collections_ invited us to peruse their downtown LA warehouse and choose fabric for the @craftcationconference sewing workshops, I hopped on the train and spent the afternoon oohing, ahhing, and treasure-hunting with @leannicorn. The best part? Watching our attendees transform those 100% cotton quilting fabric gems—straight from top designers and manufacturers—into clothing, accessories, and so much more. This time is always hard but I’ve found something that makes it easier…

Having a community of us is truly what lightens the load. I overheard in a panel asked of the small business owners “do you ever get burnt out?” met with a resounding yes. The work is challenging, changing and we are ever evolving no matter what stage in life.

Well I mean we did sit in on presentations from @natterdoodles and @getpopstore on how to be a Content Queen, How to Create a Memorable Unboxing Experience with @pirateship THE place to find the best (least cost) way to get that experience to your customers and if you wanted to make custom stickers to go on that fabulous box, @wildwindlane was teaching us how to use @avery labels to make stickers in @procreate .

Day one of Craftcation is a wrap, We had registration open at 10am, Pop-up Shop filled with enthusiastic shoppers, amazing balloon installations appeared (did not pop) thanks to @youngandwildballoonco , @pirateship had us all talking like a pirate who got a great deal on shipping rum, @cambriawines poured wonderful rosé and Chardonnay at opening ceremony and for those looking for nonalcoholic @curiouselixirs had three lovely options to imbibe, @lovepipsticks had folks whipped into a sticker frenzy, @rolanddga amazed us with their big machines, @amazonhandmade fascinated us with their platform @getpopstore charmed us with all their link in bio e-commerce solutions, @olisohome as always giving our well dressed attendees a good press, BUT THATS NOT ALL….we will be collecting moments throughout this year’s conference so follow along and share with a friend you want to bring. Dig deep into our stories for of the moment attendees snapshots. And plan for next year!!
