getting to & staying in ventura

getting there:
by train from the south or north:amtrack’s pacific surfliner train runs from san diego through los angeles. ditch your car and take the train for the green, hassle free choice and immerse yourself in the panoramic views of the ocean on your trip. (most trains have bike racks too!) call 1-800-usa-rail or visit their website to book a ticket.
by car from the south or north:ventura is right off the 101, follow it and exit california street and turn left on california and right on east harbor. the crowne plaza will be at 450 east harbor.
in town travel:
all craftcation events will be centered in the downtown area, which means you can leave your car at your hotel or take the train and walk or ride bikes to all workshops and festivities. you can rent bikes at the hotel or a nearby bike stands or bring your own.
what to do in town during your free time:
*although we have a full schedule of events for all days of craftcation, if you find yourself with some extra time here are a few things we suggest…
-the crowne plaza is right on the beach and the beach is a five minute walk from downtown
-hit up the abundance of amazing thrift and vintage stores
-walk around the historic retro downtown for shopping, dining, drinks and movies
-check out some of ventura’s sites like the ventura pier, the mission san buenaventura, the ventura county museum of art, the albinger archaeological museum and the ventura harbor
