Third, craft shows are not only a way for makers to interact with shoppers, but also for us to have a creative conversation as peers. They will engage attendees in a discussion of critique/self-critique and provide a forum to explore the paradigm of scarcity and the terror of having your ideas bitten in a whole new way that is constructive, self-reflective, healthy and edifying.

It is their audition piece, and it allows them to practice or show off their stitching expertise. But this is an easy project that anyone, at any skill level, can make, wear, and enjoy Melanie Falick, editor of all three of the Alabama Chanin books (Alabama Stitch Book, Alabama Studio Style, and Alabama Studio Sewing + Design) loves making Alabama Chanin clothing at home and is eager to inspire others in this class.
